San Antonio, Texas-As it celebrates twenty years in Bexar County, the San Antonio Clubhouse, the nonprofit leader in working with the mental health community, announced today it is now called form communities. The organization, located at 6851 Citizens Parkway has a new logo and a new website.
“form communities is our organizational name, and it uniquely describes what we do best – forming communities of wellbeing,” said Eric Estrada, Executive Director of form communities. “During our listening journey, hearing so many of our partners across the nation speak of our innovative practices, collaborative nature, and integrity, reinforced that our insight into human connection is critical to the community of care.”
For the past twenty years, form communities has provided services for free to members that transform lives through its programs of health, wellness, nutrition, employment and now peer specialist support. The Connection Center and PeerForce programs have resulted in form communities taking the lead in peer support across the state of Texas.
“The innovative work form communities performs represents what the organization offers at multiple system levels; the ability to transform lives, inform based on evidence-based practices, and create platforms for change,” said Noah Abdenour, peer and recovery services director at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
“Change is part of the human experience, and our members, staff, and board of directors felt the new name and look is part of our growth and reflects what we do in community-based mental health,” said Terry Corless, form communities board chair.
“I’ve been a member of the San Antonio Clubhouse for more than a year,” said Raissa Marking. “We learn from each other, we encourage each other, we become confident, we form communities.”
