Divine Women
Introducing Divine Women: A Beacon of Support
We’re so excited to let you know about a new mental health initiative called Divine Women that opened earlier this year in southeast San Antonio. With Divine Women, we’re focused on providing community support for women of all ages and backgrounds, especially those struggling with mental health concerns. As Angelina Guajardo, program manager, says, “With the community, we are co-creating a place of safety where women can share openly, develop strategies for handling stressful days, and work towards better outcomes for themselves and their families. Every one of us here has been through something. And if I can change my life, anyone can.”
Divine Women is open at 247 E Drexel St Tuesday-Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Women in the community come together to support the work of the program, including preparing a daily lunch, data entry and admin tasks, organizing a clothes closet, reaching out to local partners, and presenting workshops on mental health, self-care, and empowerment.
Beginning in October, Divine Women is partnering with San Antonio’s Metro Health District for a series of workshops on Diabetes Prevention & Control.

"In between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
