Finding Calm as the New Year Begins ✨

As this year comes to a close, we are taking a breath and carrying forward what matters most: rest, reflection, and connection. Welcome to a new issue of the formula, and a gentle start to 2026.

Clubhouse Christmas party

Connection That Made the Season Brighter 🎄

December was filled with meaningful moments of connection, creativity, and celebration across our community ✨

On December 17, the San Antonio Clubhouse celebrated the season with a wonderful Christmas party, generously hosted by the owner of Crockett Tavern in downtown San Antonio, a long-time friend and supporter of the Clubhouse. Members enjoyed a delicious meal served by cheerful staff, sang holiday songs led by an enthusiastic “elf,” and took part in a festive raffle where everyone received a prize 🎶✨ The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and a strong sense of togetherness.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the host and his staff for making the day so special. Just as members are known to mention this party throughout the year as one of its highlights, the party’s host cherishes it as well. “This is my favorite day of the year,” he shared.

Hope and Harvest Fair 2025 🍂✨

Celebrating the Season with Food, Joy, and Belonging

On December 13, the San Antonio Clubhouse hosted the Hope and Harvest event, bringing the community together for a family-friendly resource fair and farmers market that celebrated fresh food, learning, and connection 🌱. Guests enjoyed exploring the freight farm while accessing valuable community resources and local produce.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to H-E-B for their generous support, including event funding and two wonderful raffle prizes, and to District 1 for providing the funds that made it possible to create and distribute food pantry bags for the community. We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and support to making this event such a success.

Hope and Harvest Fair: Nourishing Our Recovery Community with H-E -B

Our Nutrition program at the San Antonio Clubhouse is supported by H-E-B.

This month, H-E-B sponsored our Hope and Harvest Fair by donating gift baskets for our member raffle and supporting our food pantry, which provides essential meals to members and their families. Members also harvested leafy greens from our on-site hydroponic farm to share through the pantry.

Every day, members plan healthy meals, budget, and shop. Breakfast and lunch are prepared daily and sold at cost to keep nutritious food affordable and support both mental and physical health.

Quote of the Month

“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”

-  Thich Nhat Hanh

This month’s quote reminds us that emotions are not fixed states, but passing experiences, much like clouds moving across the sky. When feelings intensify or become overwhelming, the invitation isn’t to push them away or judge them, but to stay present as they move through us. Conscious breathing becomes a steady anchor in those moments, offering a place to return to when the mind feels unsettled. By gently reconnecting with the breath, we create space between ourselves and our emotions, allowing clarity, calm, and self-compassion to emerge. Let this be a reminder that even in emotional turbulence, there is always something within reach that can ground and support you.

Reflection Question of the Month

What’s one quiet win from this year that you want to acknowledge, and what does it say about who you’re becoming?

Take a moment to pause and think about this question.

Happy New Year, 2026

As we step into a new year, we want to say thank you. Thank you for reading, showing up, sharing, donating, partnering, and cheering people on even when life felt heavy.
We’re going into 2026 with a simple hope: that more people feel less alone and more supported in the moments that matter.
Wishing you a year with more connection, more small wins, and more days that feel a little lighter.
