THREADS
Launching THREADS: A Wellness Workshop for Young Adults
In September, we hosted our inaugural THREADS workshops, a program designed to spark conversations around SAMHSA’s 8 Dimensions of Wellness. THREADS aims to:
1. Help individuals identify areas in their lives where they can create meaningful changes to improve well-being.
2. Foster connection among participants.
3. Strengthen bonds with our facilitation team, which primarily consists of Peers from our Peer Academy or Connection Center.
The first workshop took place over two days at Haven for Hope, engaging 12 young adults, ages 18 to 24, residing in Haven's Young Adult dorms. This 5-hour series provided an opportunity to deepen connections with participants and support their wellness journey.
Looking ahead, we will expand THREADS by offering workshops throughout the city to partner organizations that serve young adults.

Quote of the Month
"The peace I am thinking of is the dance of an open mind when it engages another equally open one."
- Toni Morrison
This quote reflects the idea that true peace comes from open, meaningful engagement between minds that are receptive and willing to listen. It suggests that peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the active, dynamic process of understanding and growth that occurs when individuals with open minds connect. This exchange fosters deeper understanding, mutual respect, and harmony, emphasizing the importance of mental flexibility and empathy in human interactions.
