🧠 SA Clubhouse Mental Health Rally & Resource Fair

Marching Forward Together for Mental Health

The Mental Health Rally and Resource Fair held on Friday, May 23, was a powerful day of advocacy, awareness, and community connection. Nearly 20 community partners and organizations participated in the resource fair, creating a vibrant space centered on mental health support and collaboration.

The program began at noon with remarks from Eric, followed by presentations from Roger Astin (Lead Trainer, SAPD CIT Unit), a video message from Jack Yatsko (COO, Clubhouse International), and reflections from members Meghan Hammersmith and Cierra Nicol. The event concluded with a message of thanks and recognition of Cameron Ramon’s one-year anniversary as Program Director.

After the program, attendees marched on Fredericksburg Road, proudly raising signs to promote mental health awareness and the Clubhouse model. H-E-B generously provided food for the event, with their volunteers assisting in distribution. The event was a resounding success—bringing people together in solidarity and shared purpose.

🌸 Divine Women: Mother’s Day Events

Honoring Motherhood Through Community and Care

On Friday, May 9, we participated in the Opportunity Home's Mother's Day Celebration. Opportunity Home San Antonio provides affordable housing and supportive services to strengthen families and communities. Divine Women hosted a table and generously donated our surplus inventory of women’s clothing, thanks to ongoing community contributions. We’re grateful to have been part of this meaningful event, helping provide dignity and resources to women in our city.

On Saturday, May 10, Divine Women joined the Breathe: A Mental Health Awareness Summit hosted at First Corinth Church. This powerful gathering was designed especially for mothers, providing a safe space for rest, reflection, and renewal. We were honored to be featured on the official event flyer and deeply appreciated the opportunity to participate alongside fellow community leaders. The summit echoed a strong message—mental health is essential, and rest is sacred.

Together, these two events exemplify our mission in action: supporting women’s mental, emotional, and material wellbeing through presence, partnership, and purpose.

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

Master the Moment, Master Yourself

This month, we’re spotlighting The Power of Now—a timeless guide to reclaiming your mental space through the practice of presence. With clarity and compassion, Eckhart Tolle explores how being caught in thoughts about the past or future can cloud our peace of mind. Instead, he invites us to anchor ourselves in the present moment, where clarity, calm, and true connection reside.

Tolle introduces concepts like the “pain-body” and the egoic mind, helping readers recognize the unconscious patterns that keep them stuck. Through gentle instruction and spiritual insight, he outlines how conscious awareness can lead to emotional freedom and deeper joy. If you’re looking to reduce inner noise and reconnect with yourself, this book offers both profound insights and practical tools for the journey.

"This is great material about not thinking about the past with regret or looking to the future with anxiety, but finding bliss in staying in the moment." - Lorna Weis

Quote of the Month

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”

-  Anne Lamott

This month’s quote is a gentle yet powerful reminder of the importance of rest in maintaining our mental well-being. In a world that glorifies constant productivity, we often ignore the signs of burnout until it's too late. But just like rebooting a system can restore its function, giving ourselves a moment to step back, breathe, and recharge can restore clarity, balance, and emotional resilience. Whether it's five minutes of silence, a short walk, or simply closing your eyes, make space for pauses—they are not a luxury, but a necessity.

Reflection Question of the Month

What boundaries could protect your peace and help you feel more emotionally safe and grounded?

Take a moment to pause and think about this question.
