The shortage of behavioral health professionals is a pressing issue, but our community is rich with resilient individuals who have navigated and worked their way to recovery. Many are eager to make a difference, and we’re making it possible. We harness this invaluable experience to create meaningful, high-impact jobs, transforming personal recovery stories into a powerful force for community support.
Our impact on the Peer career field
Since April 2021, we’ve led the growth of Texas Peer Specialists in the two primary certification paths–Mental Health Peer Specialist and Recovery Support Peer Specialist. There has been over 200% growth in those two career fields since we’ve launched our customer service and training programs.Â
Peer Academy
Peer Academy is a Texas-certified training team dedicated to providing comprehensive training and certification for Peer Specialists in Texas. Since 2020, we’ve been the largest trainer of Peer Specialists in Texas. Our trainings equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide effective peer support to those earlier in their recovery journeys.
PeerForce
A joint project with the Centralized Training Infrastructure (CTI) at UT Health Science Center San Antonio, we provide customer service and funding support to the entire, evidence-based Peer ecosystem in the State of Texas, including the Peers themselves, the communities where they live, and the organizations that train and employ them.
